I’m on this earth to be truly helpful, so in this space I’ve done my best to share the different ways I enjoy being of service for those who pass through my world online and in Costa Rica.
And if we’ve never met, I’ll share a little about myself so you can see if you’d like to stick around.
I am originally from both Dallas, TX and Park City, Utah, but I now call Costa Rica home, and I live with my family of four humans and a myriad of cats and dogs in a yoga and healing retreat sanctuary we built in NW Pacific Costa Rica called The Lanktuary. Also onsite at the Lanktuary is our yoga and event space called Heart & Flow Yoga, and amid this site you’ll learn more about how you can utilize both the Lanktuary and Heart & Flow for your own benefit.
I’m a wife, mom, sister, entrepreneur, author, ex-pat, writer, survivor of a traumatic brain injury, survivor of complex trauma, I’m a Projector in Human Design and a highly sensitive person (HSP). Living with high sensitivity and an open energy field means space and energy matter immensely to me. And after half a lifetime of not understanding this sensitivity and feeling afraid of it, I learned to reframe it as a gift. My sensitivity has helped me become a talented intuitive healer and creator of spaces that feel good to both myself and those who visit them.
In order to hopefully capture a little of my life’s WHY and this site’s WHY, I’m going to share one of my favorite poems by the “StoryPeople:”
“She left pieces of her life behind her everywhere she went. It’s easier to feel the sunlight without them, she said.”
I’ve been so many versions of myself over the years (hence the pictures), and I’ve been to so many places, both emotionally and physically, so a big part of my healing journey has been taking time and space to reflect on ALL of my life’s journey and call all those versions and pieces of me back for acceptance, forgiveness and integration.
My journey has meant I’ve needed to both acknowledge and heal all the parts of myself that I either blocked, abandoned or turned away from in my life, for a myriad of reasons, mostly rooted in shame and fear.
By sharing stories and healing opportunities available at our space in Costa Rica, it is my mission to help others take time and space to slow down, connect with themselves and embrace their own journey and the people in it.
The tools that I offer are:
The road to inner peace and self compassion is different for everyone, and it often has twists, turns, stops and dead ends. At least that’s what my life has looked like. I wish I’d had someone like me to connect with when I was deep in confusion around which way to go, so that’s why I’m offering our space as a place for rest and reflection, and myself as a resource to listen if need be, or share stories about some of my less than optimal decisions.
I’m not an official therapist, but I’ve certainly seen a lot and lived a lot in this life so far, so having a helpful companion to check in and witness where you are now and where you want to go can be beneficial to help you along your journey.
It brings me great joy to help people, and by sharing the techniques, perspectives and space where I’ve enjoyed healing, I hope to help you relax, integrate and heal, so that you can get on the road to feeling more peace and joy.
So whether you are looking to learn more about yourself, read some inspiring stories, participate in a yoga class, experience a treatment to help your nervous system, visit the Lanktuary for light hearted fun or you are seeking some quiet alone time to relax and regroup…welcome to this space to see what’s possible for you.
There’s also a kanji that appears in the background on this site. It means “Never Forget the Pleasure of the Journey” and it is a picture I bought in Boulder, Colorado in 1997 when I was beginning my sophomore year of college there.
The image stuck with me and later became the logo for my first company, The Align Spa, in Park City, Utah, and then I got the kanji tattooed on my back in 2007. My husband jokes that it’s hard for me to remember to enjoy the journey because I can’t see the tattoo on my back- wink.
In 2020 the symbol made its way onto the wall in our yoga studio in Costa Rica.
It’s a goal I think about everyday: Never Forget the Pleasure of the Journey, so this is your invitation to connect with both me and yourself, to see what’s possible.
